We have in turn addressed each of our client’s needs independently to thereby provide customized solutions. The corporate food-service landscape is being redefined by Cosmopolitan Catering by way of bringing back the essence of the word “cater”. Jacob Caputo
Owner-Kitchen Operations
It is Jake’s vision that brought Cosmopolitan Catering to life. With a commitment to producing events that are remembered for the food, Cosmopolitan Catering quickly earned the reputation for high-quality menus that pleased the pickiest of palates. Jake served as Cosmopolitan Catering’s first Executive Chef and wrote and developed many of the menus and flavor profiles that Cosmopolitan Catering still uses to this day. Currently, Jake oversees all day-to-day kitchen operations for Cosmopolitan Catering, working side-by-side with Executive Chef Scott Sasaki in menu creation and development, food costing, product sourcing, and management of kitchen staff . Over the years, Jake has built an impressive team of over 120 skilled chefs and cooks currently working for the company. His executed vision of defining the highest standards of food quality in the corporate arena is just one reason for the success of Cosmopolitan Catering. In addition to his commitment to his company, Jake serves our local community as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations. Jake has an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
Rick Angelini
Owner-Business Operations
Rick came to Cosmopolitan Catering with years of business management experience working with high-profile companies both national and internationally. He had aspirations of redefining the landscape of corporate dining. Coupled with the food expertise of founder Jake Caputo, Rick was able to apply his years of experience in marketing, sales, and business management to transform an already successful catering company into a leader in the industry. Rick works closely within all aspects of the business to ensure that Cosmopolitan Catering lives up to its own expectations and delivers a service and a product that is exactly as it is advertised for all facets of catering and café operation and management. Rick leads the efforts in brand development, sales and marketing, contract negotiation, and financial analysis, as well as the establishment and implementation of the customer service standards by which Cosmopolitan Catering is measured. Rick serves on the board of directors for the Silicon Valley Organization, and chairs and contributes to committees for Strive San Jose, the International Facilities Management Association, the Building Owners and Management Organization, the California Retail Food Safety Coalition, and FARE - The Business of Food.
Scott Sasaki
Executive Chef
Chef Scott is regarded as one of the finest culinary minds in corporate dining. After receiving his formal education at Lederwolf Culinary Institution, he received training under a culinary genius while working under the renowned Chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry. Scott then took his talents to help develop the prestige of Tavistock Restaurants and the Garibaldi Group of Restaurants. Most recently, before joining Cosmopolitan Catering, Chef Scott spent five years as the Executive Chef at Google, continuing the legendary notoriety made famous by Chef Charlie Ayres. Chef Scott shares the vision to redefine the meaning of what corporate catering is, allowing companies throughout the Bay Area the opportunity to offer their employees a food-service experience that is both appreciated and valued. Chef Scott is tasked with the execution of all aspects of food production and takes pride in providing food that is consistently safe, healthy, and socially responsible.
William Kraemer
Catering Operations Manager
Will has compiled years of experience in the hospitality industry ranging from fine dining to banquet service to five-star hotel dining. Will oversees all logistical and operational aspects of Cosmopolitan Catering’s operational functions including hiring, training, and service standard implementation. Will’s focus is on sharpening and refining our processes and striving to offer a “next level service”. His commitment to Cosmopolitan Catering’s service standards allow our clients and guests alike a pleasurable experience from beginning to end. Beyond traditional, corporate catering services, it is Will’s attention to detail and industry expertise that allow Will and his team to deliver a memorable experience whether it be intimate catering for 10 or multi-faceted catering operations for thousands.. William has an Associate’s Degree in Hospitality & Restaurant Management from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

Line Cook
Prepare a variety of food items in accordance with prescribed recipes in order to provide exemplary service in the Cosmopolitan Catering Kitchen.
As a Cosmo Line Cook you should have exceptional communication skills and possess a confident and positive attitude. In addition, (s)he should have outstanding attention to detail and time management skills. Further, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Review production schedule to determine food requirements, including quantity of food for preparation and assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking activities
- Knowledgeable in cooking procedures and kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of where and how everything is stored
- Completes production sheets and other records as required
- Maintains clean work area, utensils and equipment
- Food production steps such as frying, cold cookery, sautéing, grilling, roasting, and baking
- Ensuring minimal product shrink and coordinating secondary usage of product with other departments
- Validating recipe adherence according to standards
- Maintaining Cosmopolitan Catering’s high standards for product freshness
- Using strong interpersonal skills

Prep Cook
Prepare a variety of food items in accordance with prescribed recipes in order to provide exemplary service in the Cosmopolitan Catering Kitchen.
The Prep Cook is responsible for a particular station and/or group of menu items, their preparation, and set up for delivery. Assists with putting away deliveries and kitchen sanitation. The Prep Cook must be able to take direction from Lead Cooks and Managers.
- Review production schedule to determine food requirements, including quantity of food for preparation and assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking activities
- Prepare and display meats, vegetables, fruits and salads
- Completes production sheets and other records as required
- Maintains clean work area, utensils and equipment
- Food production steps such as frying, cold cookery, sautéing, grilling, roasting, and baking
- Ensuring minimal product shrink and coordinating secondary usage of product with other departments
- Validating recipe adherence according to standards
- Maintaining Cosmopolitan Catering’s high standards for product freshness
- Using strong interpersonal skills

Café Server
We are looking for Café Servers to fill positions at many of our corporate café locations throughout the Bay Area.
Responsibilities will include overall supervision of all assigned café daily operational tasks and events, including but not limited to delivery, set-up and breakdown.
- Assist the Cafe Manager in maintaining exceptional customer and public relations with all clients and guests
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to understand the food, equipment needed, and proper presentation for each daily lunch service and/or catered event
- Set-up, decorate, and execute each event as described in the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
- Accurately input transactions in to the POS system and follow cash handling procedures.
- Assist with proper training of new team members
- Prevent product shrinkage and efficient use of consumables
- Familiarization of all menus, how things are prepared, what they taste like, and with special requests that have been made
- Understand and practice HACCP, safe chemical handling, food safety, and sanitation
- Maintain and execute assigned cleaning tasks including but not limited to; all work stations within the café, dining and service area, bussing stations and any additional areas specific to the café cleaning schedule, and company vehicles
- Safe operation of all equipment
- Maintain Cosmopolitan Catering’s Service Standards, Dress Code and Grooming Policies
- May be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments, including possible small spaces/use of elevators. Work includes walking, standing, lifting and carrying of product weighing up to 50 pounds, and the safe operation of all equipment, along with frequent interaction with customers, associates, and vendors

Catering Server
